Coverboard is a family business with respect to people and their history.
Everything started from Vasilios Gatos many years ago when he learned the art of tanner to tanneries of Amfissa and goes to Athens to sell the leathers. Very quickly the time bookbinders discovered the difference in the quality of leather and the business grew. Next stop the small shop in St. Theklas str. at Monastiraki in the center of the market of that time. There, with his son John enters the company from an early age, develop their customer base and increasingly expanding their sales in the market of Thessaloniki and the rest of the Greek province. The shop of St. Theclas grows and the name Gatos consolidate in bookbinding materials market.
As seasons change, father and son traveling to Europe and keep abreast of new trends in the market. So, imports of new materials (plastic and fabric for the covers of books) have started and promoted to the Greek bookbinders, offering ease of use, durability and fresh new colors and designs on materials.
Today, the company continues to work with their offspring in private facilities and is the market leader bookbinding materials in Greece. At the same time, plans to relocate to new modern private facilities to meet its customers needs and make Coverboard more competitive.
